Client

STEAG State Power, Inc.

Location

Villanueva, Misamis Oriental

The STEAG Coal-Fired Power Plant located in PHIVIDEC Industrial Estate in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental is the first coal thermal power plant in Mindanao. The power plant has a capacity of 232 MW and started its operations last November 2006. The power plant is operated by STEAG State Power, Inc. (SPI), a subsidiary of STEAG GmbH, a world-class energy company and a leader in advance coal-fired power generation technology.

STEAG State Power, Inc. engaged AMH to carry out a routine inspection and assessment on their existing Jetty Facility. These include the coal unloading jetty, mooring dolphins, coal transfer tower, conveyor bridge, and catwalk. The jetty facility was rated and assessed both qualitatively and quantitatively using performance measurement of UK Standard and AASHTO. Non-structural elements such as mooring bitts and fenders were evaluated using the guidelines of Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC). After the assessment, repairs and maintenance were recommended based on the standards of Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC).
